Overview of Security Tab

The Security tab provides the information and settings concerning the security of the machine.

When a certificate is registered in this machine, you can encrypt SSL communications between this machine and a computer.

This machine can manage multiple certificates and use them depending on the intended use (protocol). Create a new certificate on the user side, or install the certificate issued from CA (Certificate Authority). The following methods are provided to use a certificate on this machine.

Use method

Description

Using the self-created certificate

Create a certificate on the machine. This method does not require CA (Certificate Authority), so you can just enter information required to create a certificate to use the certificate. The security level is lower than the certificate issued from CA. For details, refer to Creating and installing a self-signed certificate or About Device Certificate Setting.

Using the certificate issued from CA (Certificate Authority)

Create certificate issuance request data on the machine, and request a reliable CA (Certificate Authority) to issue the certificate of the machine. After the examination in CA has been completed, register the data returned from CA on the machine. For details, refer to Requesting issue of certificate or About Device Certificate Setting.

To display this tab, access in administrator mode. For details, refer to Accessing administrator mode.
