Cleaning the Scan Unit

If the scanning area of the ADF is dirty, follow the steps below to clean it.

NOTICE

  • When cleaning, exercise care not to damage the glass.

  1. Open the ADF, and wipe the original glass clean using a clean soft cloth.

    • supplementary explanationWipe the original glass clean with a clean soft cloth dampened slightly with water, when it is difficult to clean.

    NOTICE

    • Never use paint solvents such as benzine or thinners, or spray containing any volatile elements, to clean the original glass.

  2. Wipe the slit scan glass clean using a clean soft cloth.

  3. Open the lever [DF1], and also open the conveyance guide.

  4. Wipe the slit scan glass (back) clean using a clean soft cloth.

  5. Press the label part, and close the conveyance guide.

  6. Close the ADF.
