Cleaning the Output Unit

If the output unit is dirty, follow the steps below to clean it.

CAUTION
  • Always check the cleaning locations before turning the main body on.

  • If the power is turned on while the main body doors are closed, the fusing unit may become hot and you may be burned when cleaning around the fusing unit.

NOTICE
  • When cleaning, exercise care to prevent any dirt from falling into the paper feed route.

  1. Open the front door of the main body and the left side door of the main body.

  2. Turn ON the main power switch, and turn ON the sub power switch.

  3. Lower the lever [M4] clockwise.

  4. Hold the lever [M4], and pull out the duplex part.

  5. Turn OFF the sub power switch, then turn OFF the main power switch.

  6. Open the lever [M7].

  7. Clean the transport roller using a soft cloth dampened with alcohol (cleaner).

  8. Clean the decurler inlet roller using a soft cloth dampened with alcohol (cleaner).

  9. Clean the opposite roller of the fusing outlet roller using a soft cloth dampened with alcohol (cleaner).

  10. Close the lever [M7].

  11. Push the duplex part into the main body, then return the lever [M4] to its original position.

  12. Close the left side door of the main body and the front door of the main body.
